I was referred to Express Property Tax Appeals (“EPTA”) in January, 2013, to consider lowering the property tax on multiple commercial buildings (primarily banking institutions) I manage. Its President, Stephen Polter, followed up and remained persistent yet patient for several months thereafter. Stephen offered a complete valuation on 15 of our properties in an orderly and easy-to-understand spreadsheet. He described what the taxes ought to be and what I can expect in terms of annual tax dollar savings. He then presented me with 15 one-page proposals (one for each property we were entertaining).
